Boy racers were confronted by police in Imperial Way last night as part of an operation to crack down on cruising meetings.
Officers swooped on the Croydon Airport Industrial Estate to quiz young drivers who gather at the site off Purley Way every Thursday.
Businesses in and around Imperial Way and residents living nearby have been demanding police do something about the antisocial meetings for years.
There have been several serious accidents linked to the meetings, including an incident last month were a 21-year-old narrowly escaped being killed during a four-car smash.
