A writer who spent 25 years working on The Simpsons will share the shows secrets at Crystal Palace International Film Festival next month.

Billing itself as London’s coolest film festival, the extravaganza includes UK, European and World premieres of films at unusual venues with gourmet food from November 6 to 28.

One of the highlights is Mike Reiss, who spent a quarter of a century writing the world’s biggest cartoon. He is holding a Q&A session after the screening of his new film How Murray Saved Christmas at Stanley Halls on November 6 and then returning in Sunday to tell the Secrets of the Simpsons in a 75-minute, clip and anecdote-laden presentation.

Other notable events include the screening of a film called Two Down, which was executive produced by Stephen Fry and sir Derek Jacobi and supported by sir Ian McKellen.

Comedian Mark Steel will present the annual CPIFF Awards and the launch night screening is SuperBob, starring Catherine Tate and described by CPIFF chairman Neill Roy as ‘the funniest UK film for years’.
