The Clapham family of a British grandfather facing 350 lashes in Saudi Arabia has asked the Government to intervene.
Karl Andree, 74, who has lived in the Middle East for the last 25 years, was jailed for 12 months after being caught with illegal alcohol last August.
His family met with Foreign Minister Tobias Ellwood last month.
Mr Andree's 33-year-old son Simon, who lives in Clapham, told The Sun: "Until his arrest, he has always been happy working there and felt safe.
"He is 74 years of age, has had cancer three times and his wife is dying in a home in the UK.
"He now needs medical care for his cancer and asthma, and there is no doubt in our mind that 350 lashes will kill him."
The newspaper reported the Foreign Office was assisting Mr Andree and raised the case with the Saudi Government.
