Primary school pupils have designed an ecobag set to go on sale in a branch of Sainsbury’s to help shoppers cut back on using plastic bags.
The green team at Bishop Gilpin Primary School designed the bag ahead of the introduction of a 5p charge for plastic bags coming in on October 5.
Priced at £4, all money will go towards building an outdoor educational area at the school and installing solar panels.
The ecobag is available on Monday, October 5, at Sainsbury’s, Worple Road, Wimbledon, and at the Lake Road school, as well as at its Christmas fair on December 5.
