Supermarket chain Aldi said construction and refurbishment works are on schedule for a July opening for its new store in Addington Road.

The £6.5million development is on the site of the former Somerfield store and incorporates the Stag pub to form a store car park. Aldi received unanimous support from the Selsdon Residents' Committee in support of the planning application issued in early 2006.
