Peter Taylor has retracted his comments regarding fielding a youthful side against Colchester United for the final game of the season this Sunday.
The Palace boss intended to play an inexperienced team in the U's clash, but with the Essex side still in remote play-off contention, Taylor says he will play his strongest 11.
"I honestly said to myself it was going to be a really young team. That's not going to be the case now," he said.
"It would be a little unfair. If all of a sudden, somebody like Stoke, Wolves or Southampton get beat, and Colchester beat us 25-0, they could make the play-offs."
Taylor also revealed he would be giving Julian Speroni a third game to impress in his bid to prove he can become the Eagles' number one next season.
"He is going to get three out of three games," Taylor added.
"I was very impressed with him on Sunday. He was very positive so I want to have another look."
