Bromley owner Jerry Dolke believes his newly-promoted Conference side can kick on following Saturday’s impressive 3-0 victory over Gateshead.

More than 1,400 fans were at Hayes Lane to witness two late goals from Moses Emmanuel and a solitary effort by Louis Dennis seal a well deserved three points for the Ravens, only their second win at this level since stepping up from the Conference South.

And after a tricky opening month to life in non-league’s top tier, Dolke is optimistic the Gateshead triumph will inspire the Ravens on to better things.

He told News Shopper: “It is the best result this season.

“What we’ve done today with a clean sheet, three fantastic goals and some solid performances, we really did look the part.

“Moses Emmanuel was superb, Alex Wall led the line impeccably but the biggest plus for me were the back four because we’ve said all along it is about clean sheets and we had something to really build on.

“Three goals at home and the crowd go home happy – brilliant.”

Dolke added: “It is important we try and make our own ground a bit of a fortress.

“We showed our intentions in the first game against Wrexham where went a goal down and went on to win that game 3-1.

“It is just the games after that where we’ve been disappointing but we’ve put it right.

“The performance at Forest Green was another strong one from the boys.

“We’ve got Macclesfield at home on Saturday and then we go to Torquay and Boreham Wood, so we’ve got teams coming up who are going to be in and around us.

“It is a chance to get some more points on the board.”

Those at Hayes Lane for the Gateshead game would undoubtedly have been impressed by what they saw, with Dolke looking to get people to come back when Macclesfield make a visit this weekend.

He explained: “There were 1,400 people here today and 98 from Gateshead who have made a long trip to support their side really well.

“If we can build on this that is what we are aiming for.

“We’ve got initiatives whereby season ticket holders at Football League clubs can watch football here for a tenner if they show their season ticket.

“There was a lot of floating support here today because of the international break which swells the crowd.

“When the boys put on a performance like that they will come back and watch it.

“Kids can get in free if they arrive an hour before kick-off accompanied by a paying adult.

“What we are trying to do is get the children to encourage their parents to come along to the game.”
