Strawberry Hill’s Sophie Morrill became European champion on Saturday.
The 21-year-old Cambridge University natural sciences undergraduate was on the scoresheet as England’s lacrosse women beat Wales 11-8 in the European Championship final in the Czech Republic at the weekend.
England did not lose a game as they dominated the week-long tournament.
The former Lady Eleanor Holles School student, who played every minute of the final, took up the sport as an 11-year-old and was only selected in the England elite squad in September last year.
