More than 200 young people descended on the borough earlier this month to take part in a Football for Fun day organised by Kick London Croydon.

The successful event was held at the Croydon Sports Club and was part of a community scheme which provides life skills for young people across the borough.

The youngsters participated in three knockout tournaments with 30 teams taking part from organisations across south-east London. In total, 75 football matches took place in front of more than 100 friends and family.

In addition to the football, spectators were also entertained by face painters, a bouncy castle and a live band.

Due to the success of the event, another date has been announced for a Football for Fun day on Saturday August 18.
