GreenSpace, the parks charity, has launched GreenSTAT, the first ever national online satisfaction survey of Britain's parks. This study is the nation's biggest ever research project devoted to the role that parks play within communities across the country.

GreenSTAT represents the first ever UK-wide opportunity for members of the public to speak out and voice their opinions on the quality of any park that they visit.

12,500 members of the public have already taken action and registered their opinions but GreenSpace is encouraging more people to take the opportunity of participating in the most comprehensive study of the nation's parks to date.

To take part, go to the GreenSTAT website (www.greenstat.org.uk) to find your local park and answer the questions about it.

The results of the survey will be announced as part of Love Parks Week, which takes place between Saturday 16 and Sunday 24 June.

The results will reveal: The nation's satisfaction with their local park The nation's favourite park activities The nation's main park concerns that need to be addressed Love Parks Week is a national campaign which raises awareness of the importance of Britain's parks and green spaces and encourages people to get out and discover just what these fantastic places have got to offer.

Paul Bramhill, GreenSpace's Chief Executive, says "With over 2.5 billion annual visits, and 90% of people stating that they believe they improve quality of life, it's never been more important to ensure that everybody has access to clean, safe and well maintained parks and green spaces.

Whether people think that they are a delight or a disgrace, brilliant or boring, we want to hear from them and will ensure that their views are heard by the people who are responsible for their upkeep".
