The transportation and environment and economy select committees of Surrey County Council have set up a joint task group to investigate the main causes of flooding in Surrey, the main problem area or wet spots, and make recommendations to the executive as to what can be done to solve the problems.
As part of this work, highways engineers have made significant progress towards identifying the majority of wet spots in the county.
I would welcome the help of residents of Ashford to ensure that the data is complete and would ask them to reply to me by May 2 with the following information: This should include site of flood (please be specific - road and/or postcode); details of flooding (what was flooded, when and for approximately how long); cause of problem (a gully issue or a problem with a drain etc) and comments (already reported, any action that has already been taken).
Carol Coleman County Councillor for Ashford 34 Nelson Road Ashford
