Croydon police are set for a first next month when they hold three public question and answer sessions.
Officers said no other London borough had held such an event before, which will offer people the chance to raise any concerns they have on crime to both the borough commander, Chief Superintendent Mark Gore, and deputy leader of the council, councillor Steve O'Connell.
The first meeting is due to take place on Tuesday, May 1, at Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church in Reedham Park Avenue, Purley. The second is at Beulah Junior School in Beulah Road, Thornton Heath, on Thursday, May 17. The final event will be at the town hall in Katharine Street on Tuesday, May 29. All will run from 7pm to 9pm.
No tickets are being issued and entry will be on a first come first served basis.
