The lover of a £2,000-a-night hooker snorted cocaine as her lifeless, handcuffed body lay next to him, an inquest heard.

Nick Wells, 28, and Trudy Webb, 30, had binged on drugs for ten days when she died in her sleep at the couple's Battersea home in January.

Blonde mum-of-one Trudy, who dated former EastEnders hunk Paul Nicholls, took more than double the lethal amount of cocaine.

The pair's final drug binge was paid for with cash she earned from an "assignment" in South Africa.

They used handcuffs during a sex game that night and Wells awoke to find Trudy dead.

He feared he had strangled her and then binged on drugs, sleeping pills and vodka for three days while her body lay nearby.

He then took a train to Brighton, aiming to kill himself by jumping from a flyover.

Mr Wells, who jumped but escaped with just a broken ankle, told police who tried to talk him out of leaping that he could not remember if he had killed Trudy.

A pathologist found no evidence of murder and Westminster Coroner Paul Knapman recorded a verdict of misadventure.
