Leatherhead boss Dave Harlow is looking to recruit a scout to relieve the pressure on he and assistant manager Steve Wood.
Goals from Dave Sargent and Julien Thompson were not enough as the Tanners were held to a 2-2 draw by Cray Wanderers on Saturday, extending a miserable run of just one win in their past 13 league matches.
Tanners manager Harlow revealed to the Comet last week that he offered the board his resignation - which was turned down - after his side's poor end to the season.
Because of his own business commitments, Harlow and his assistant were concerned they would not be able to devote as much time to the club as they would have liked and, now, the Leatherhead boss has revealed that he is looking to bring in a chief scout to help revive the club's fortunes.
He said: "We are looking to bring in some people in to take the burden off Steve and I," he said.
"We don't always have time to go to games and look at players.
"That's where we need a scouting network at the club.
"We always hear about players, but there is no better way of seeing how good someone is than going to watch them yourself - that's where a chief scout would be beneficial."
