More than 100 people rose in the early hours of this morning to get their hands on a limited edition eco-designer bag being sold for one day only in North Cheam.
People began queuing at 6am outside Sainsbury's in London Road for an Anya Hindmarch cream, cotton bag that sold out in minutes across the nation.
With only 90 bags in stock, staff at the supermarket distributed raffle tickets to decide who would walk away with the much-coveted item.
Bearing the slogan I am not a plastic bag', the tote sold for £5 has become a must-have since supermodel Lily Cole was seen carrying it at star-studded events all over London.
With only so many in stock, fashionistas are scrambling to get the shopper which is an eco-friendly alternative to the free polythene bags available at most major supermarkets.
It is now selling on internet marketplace Ebay for up to £75.
