A Thornton Heath man has been charged following raids to crack down on alleged sham marriages.
Police, working in partnership with the Border and Immigration Agency (BIA), swooped on a property in Thornton Heath last Friday, while at the same time addresses in Reading and Scotland were also being raided by officers.
Four people have been charged with offences relating to the arrangement of sham marriages to avoid immigration laws and appeared in court on Monday.
Philkip Kojo Titus Glover, 33, from Thornton Heath, appeared in custody at Paisley Sheriff Court in Scotland as well as Lamin Manneh, 34, from Reading, 27-year-old Derek Burns and Maureen Campbell, 26, both from Paisley.
None of the accused made any plea or declaration and the case was adjourned.
