Reacting to news that firms supplying renewable energy services are being forced to lay of staff because of a series of problems with the government grant scheme that helps households green technologies, such as solar panels, Darren Johnson, London Assembly Green Party Member, calls for the government to make more money available, more easily.
"People want to turn their homes greener but the Government is letting them down. I chaired a London Assembly investigation two years ago showing that endless bureaucracy, lack of grants and lack of information was preventing householders installing renewables. Two years on and the Government has still failed to rise to the challenge. Their support for renewables is a joke."
