The cause of a fire that damaged two floors of a disused house in Purley last night is under investigation.
About 40 firefighters battled for more than two and a half hours to bring the fire under control at the house in Brighton Road, Purley.
Eight fire engines from Purley, Wallington, Norbury and Croydon were sent to the house, which had been converted in to flats, about 2.45am.
Half the first and second floors were damaged by the blaze which was under control by 5.20am.
