Crystal Palace’s latest signing Alex McCarthy is delighted to have made the switch across London, leaving QPR after just one season at the club.
The former England U21 international has signed a four-year contract with the Eagles – for a fee believed to be around £3.5m - and joins fellow summer signings Yohan Cabaye and Patrick Bamford at Selhurst Park.
The 25-year-old only joined QPR last summer - following a seven- year stint at Reading where he made 75 appearances – but despite earning a call up to the senior England side, the goalkeeper only played four times for the Hoops.

McCarthy is now delighted to have joined the Eagles.
“I’m over the moon. When I first heard about Palace’s interest I was excited because I really wanted to be back in the Premier League,” he said.
“Towards the end of last season I started hearing little inklings about a move and then gradually over the summer things progressed and now, here I am.
“Every time I’ve played at Palace the atmosphere has been brilliant. The fans are excellent and they’re so passionate about their club. I’m really excited to be here.”
