Friends of a Wallington Grammar School pupil who drowned in Canada have started a hashtag to get rapper Drake to notice their friend.
Hashtag #DrakenoticeJamal is hoping to reach the Canadian rapper and ask him to give a shout out to Jamal Ottun who drowned in Shawnigan Lake, in Vancouver Island, on Sunday, July 12.
The pupil has been described as a huge fan of Drake's music and it is hoped that the hashtag will reach the rapper and encourage him to do something in Jamal's memory.
Jamal, from Sydenham, was just 17 when he died.
He is survived by his mother Lolade, father Dapo and sisters Zainad and Rahmat.
In the week that followed his death friends and family have taken to social media to celebrate the popular schoolboy's life, starting with Facebook group 'In memory of Jamal' and later the Twitter campaign.
Since they were both started last week hundreds of people have left posts remembering Jamal.
