Shops along Sutton High Street are without electricity following a power cut.
Units on the east side of the high street from Wilko's at the junction with Throwley Road, down the hill towards Sutton Common have reportedly been without power since 1.57pm.
Shops that are closed at the time of writing are Wilko's, Poundland and Lloyds TSB Bank.
An alarm between TSB and Poundland is understood to have been set off by the power cut and is still going off.
John Lang, A spokesman from UK Power Networks said: “Due to an earlier fault, 552 customers had an interruption to their power supply in the Sutton area.
"Our engineers responded quickly and have already restored power to 235 customer and hope to have the remaining 317 customers soon.
"UK Power Networks would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers while we work to restore their power.”
