A decorator whose home contained evidence of class A drug dealing has been jailed for seven years after being stopped by police in Croydon.

Jourdan Dacosta, of Jasmine Grove, Anerley, was sentenced on Wednesday at Croydon Crown Court for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Police first picked him, and a second man, Daniel Williams, up on June 24 last year as they drive along Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath in a black Range Rover.

Acting on intelligence that a car of that description was being used for drug dealing in the area officers stopped the car in Whitehall Road, but as Dacosta got out, Williams drove off.

He abandoned the vehicle in Mayfield Road where it was found by police officers and seized.

Dacosta, 24, was arrested and a search of his home found heroin, crack cocaine and Mdma worth more than £1,000 as well as measuring scales.

On his mobile phone, images of cannabis factories, and luxury items such as watches and cars, were also found.

He was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, one count of possession with intent to supply heroin and one count of possession with intent to supply Mdma.

Williams, 22, of no fixed abode was arrested and charged on February 17 with driving while disqualified.

He was sentenced at Croydon Magistrates' Court on March 9 where he pleaded guilty and was sent back to jail on recall to prison.

Officer in the case, trainee DC Tom Lockwood said: "A local criminal has been sentenced for seven years and we have made a dent in the profit and network of local drug dealers, causing them serious disruption. The sentence Dacosta received clearly reflects the severity of his involvement in crime."
