A Christian comedian who helps write the scripts for hit BBC sitcom Miranda is getting ready to perform in Ewell.

Paul Kerensa turned his first book, So a Comedian Walks Into a Church, into a stand-up show and has been touring churches around the country ever since.

Kerensa is set to appear alongside musicians and a DJ at a family fun day in Bourne Hall gardens in Ewell next month.

The event will include a bouncy castle, a pamper and wellbeing zone, a tea tent and crafts and games.

Gillian Nichols, from Generation Church based in Ewell, says: "The event is organised and financed by Churches Together in Ewell as a gift to our local community.

"Everyone can have an afternoon of games, music and refreshments without spending any money as everything is free. All the Christian denominations work together to create this annual event."
