As the new series of The Apprentice is about to hit our screens again, students from one Croydon college have proved you do not need to face Sir Alan Sugar to get ahead in business.
A-level media students from John Ruskin College in Selsdon were paid a visit by two Saatchi and Saatchi employees, art director Mike Middleton and account director Paul Everson.
The college's broadcast and film fiction unit was asked to put together a £1million advertising campaign for either a new product they had devised, or an existing one.
The campaigns included promoting the PSP, iPod games and a remix CD as well as advertising juice drinks and raising sexual health awareness.
The winning PSP and iPod teams were chosen by Paul and Mike, who selected them for their ability to meet the brief by covering both the creative side of the project and the financial aspects.
Mr Middleton said: "I didn't know what to expect. It was brilliant seeing how much enthusiasm they had."
