We noted with horror the proposed flightpath maps published recently in the press.
We specifically moved to Wimbledon four years ago to get away from the noise and disturbed sleep we experienced while living in Barnes.
Being woken up at 4.30am every morning is like a form of torture, stopping your conversation mid-sentence when outside while a plane roars over, and noting that your glass is covered in a fine film of fuel - ask anyone who has a conservatory in Barnes, Richmond or Kew. The noise and pollution are bad for everyone's health. This proposal is surely contradicting the Government's policy of making us more green. If Merton Council has any sense, it must fight these proposals from the outset to ensure that its residents are not subjected to such noise and pollution.
