Cycling on a footpath or pavement is antisocial, irresponsible, dangerous and against the law.
"Cyclists beware if you cycle you could be fined..." Only if they do so illegally - like Adam Winkler (Wandsworth Guard- ian March 8) did.
As for when a parent "needs to cycle alongside his young children", the parent should set a good example and walk alongside the bike.
Adam should keep his dignity and pay his fine.
