House burglars turned car thieves when they raided an Epsom home.
Police are appealing for information following the burglary in Pams Way on Thursday, March 22, in which car keys and a BMW were stolen.
Detectives said thieves got in by lifting keys from an inside window sill and sliding them out through the house's letterbox between 3.30am and 3.45am.
Detective Constable Bex Humber said items including two mobile phones, a BlackBerry PDA and jewellery were stolen but the biggest theft was the black BMW saloon parked in the driveway.
DC Humber said the victim was woken by the sound of her car being driven away.
"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to cast their mind back - did you see anything suspicious?
"If so, please do get in touch with Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222.
"Surrey Police is working hard to specifically target burglars and those that handle stolen goods and I would reassure the public that we are continually working to reduce burglary across Surrey."
