Walton & Hersham boss Les Cleeveley has signed striker Sam Baldock and defender Kieran Murphy from MK Dons in a last-ditch bid to avoid relegation from the Ryman Premier League.

The two 19-year-olds join Luton Town trainee Ed Asafu-Adjaye, Danny Bailey from Aveley and Ramsgate keeper Chris Day as new arrivals at Stompond Lane.

"Sam is an energetic lad, who is always in the right place at the right time and has plenty of pace. He is an out-and-out goalscorer, which is what we need," said Cleevely.

"Kieran is already a Republic of Ireland U21 international, so that speaks for itself.

"Their experience will be great for us. They are quality players who are comfortable on the ball and they want to play football, which is the sort of player I want at this club."

The pair went straight into Cleeveley's side who beat Folkestone Invicta 3-1 on Saturday. Baldock scored on his debut and Lawrence Yiga bagged a brace to give the Swans a much-needed victory.

The win leaves the Swans side six points from safety with three games in hand over third-from-bottom Worthing - but the Swans boss says he is not paying too much attention to the league table.

"I don't really look at the league - there is no need to," said Cleevely.

"We have to win games to stand any chance of staying up - and that is what we are going to try to do."

Walton face a tough trip to Margate on Saturday.
