Streets star Mike Skinner is to make his only festival appearance this summer in Clapham Common.

Skinner and his group will be headlining the main stage at this year's Get Loaded in the Park music festival on August 29.

The festival has been swamped by 20,000 people each year since the inaugural event in 2004.

Famous for his witty and memorable lyrics, Skinner has sprinkled his songs with references to south London - particularly Brixton, where he moved to when he was launching his music career.

After three number one albums, Skinner is one of the darlings of the English music scene, and one of the lucky few to have avoided a wholesale backlash from the notoriously fickle music press.

The rest of the festival's line-up includes the Dirty Pretty Things, Pete Tong, Paul Van Dyke, Roger Sanchez.

Last year's event had performances by Babyshambles, Badly Drawn Boy, Lily Allen, Tiga and Erol Alkan.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 30, 9am at getloadedinthepark.com.
