A former Crystal Palace player and a former soldier have teamed up to get a business in top shape.

The new Get Sweaty Ultimate Fitness and Dynamo Boxing Club is run by Martin Dilworth - an ex Royal Navy, Parachute Regiment officer and ex-professional boxer.

Martin claims to be the longest standing independent gym proprieter in the area. He has been a fitness instructor for 13 years and moved to his current location at the Capital Business Centre in South Croydon in 2005.

Former Palace player Robert Kember recently joined the business and the duo are hoping to offer a unique exercise regime.

Martin said: "With the experience we have we are unique in what we can give to clients, we have very different views to corporate gyms and have the time and committment that many of them do not.

"Our committment levels to our customers are always more than the committment the customer has."

Robert, 25, played for Palace between 2001 and 2002 and is the son of Eagles legend Steve Kember. He now plays for Tunbridge Angels.

Robert joined the gym after suffering an injury while playing for Conference side Woking. Martin trained him back to fitness before realising his potential as a business partner.

He said: "It was all about bringing two different training backgrounds together. We are like-minded people and want to get people fit.

"Most people who are members of a gym don't go because they have a choice and will always make excuses.

"We do not give people the choice, you pay us to work you out and that is what we do."

He added: "Everyone is busy and Croydon is no different - people have constant committments and if we can make that a little bit easier then so be it."
