Firstly, a big thank you to the Guardian for highlighting the Surrey County Council's proposal to "dispose of" the Nonsuch Mansion.
It is good news, as far as it goes. Still no funding from SCC and no resolution in the near future. We have been here before; 17 years ago it was proposed to turn the house and park into a club house and course, this was seen off by Nonsuch Watch and Friends of Nonsuch.
We have seen off the threat, but for how long.
This is a jewel in the area's crown. The problems must be resolved without the loss of either park or house.
Thirdly, I cannot believe anybody can be as anti-social as Ray Horry appears to be, every week without fail. It would not surprise me to learn if RH was a journalist's ploy to engender a response.
