With reference to your news item (Driven to help charity, Croydon Guardian, March 14), what a caring heart this 44-year-old bus driver David Greenslade has to give up his spare time in the interest of others.
What a noble and worthy cause to raise money by running in the London Marathon for the charity Sense, to promote the well being of the deaf and blind.
It is also very kind of his employer Arriva to support him in this very worthy cause. I am sure David will easily reach his target of £1,500 and our hearts go out to him.
Of course there are very many unsung heroes like David out there. They may not always make the headlines but their names are written in heaven.
