Many congratulations on the launch of the Green Guardian website (greenguardian.co.uk) .
It looks set to be a really invaluable tool for mobilising environmental action in our area. Put this alongside the inspiring launch of the Sustainable Merton initiative and there seems to be a strong momentum for change.
However, we will all be able to do more at the local level if the proposed Sustainable Communities Bill goes through Parliament.
Backed by a wide array of organisations from Friends of the Earth through to Help the Aged to the National Federation of Women's Institutes (as well as the Green Party), the bill will give councils the necessary tools to take effective action.
A rally is being held on Monday, March 26 from 7pm to 9pm at Methodist Central Hall with speakers from all major parties and supporting organisations.
