Alan Donovan, from Park Hill in Croydon, grew up in the borough but moved to Cheltenham in the early 1970s before returning a few years ago.
He said: "The Croydon I left was totally different to the Croydon I came back to. It's a lot busier, noisier and seems a bit more dangerous when I hear about all the crime.
"My father owned the local gas company and I grew up round here. I moved to Cheltenham in 1971 but my job brought me back here a few years ago. There are good things and bad things about Croydon.
"I like the tram network. Croydon also has a fantastic museum which I like to visit quite a lot."
