I have been contacted by many residents regarding the fact the second lamppost in Oak's Road is not working.

I have contacted Surrey County Council as a member of the Surrey County Council Local Committee Partnership for Spelthorne and they tell me the lamppost has been vandalised and have ordered the new gear and a new cut out.

Both SEC and the contractor have been told the matter is urgent. I am awaiting a reply on the pot hole.

The members of the committee agreed an application for £5,000 for security lighting in Hadfield Road from County Coun Victor Agarwal's allocation at their meeting on March 12, 2007.

This will not solve the problem of antisocial behaviour that is endemic throughout Stanwell, but will enable any police presence to see who the culprits are and perhaps arrest them.

They also approved £2,243 of his allocation for provision of a youth officer for Stanwell Moor Village to add to the amounts allocated by Coun D'Sa and myself and I hope this will enable the project to get off the ground.

The next meeting, open to the public, will be in Stanwell on July 2, 2007. I hope Stanwellians will make a note in their diaries and prepare any questions they would like to ask and submit them to Surrey County Council in advance.

Please note I am on the steering committee of Stanwell New Start, the new estate is part of it, but it will be Stanwellians who work with A2 to ensure satisfaction of the building project.
