Elmbridge Council's decision to ban the disposal of green waste in household bins will only result in a large increase in fly-tipping.
I do not have the space for a third wheelie bin or a compost heap and can not afford to pay out for another tax which will innevitably increase each year.
I can at least do my bit, I have started to remove the tree from my garden and all the plants etc and will then pave the area and introduce plastic artificial plants and a bit of Astroturf instead.
I hope to get rid of all the green material in the wheelie bin before April 1.
In fact I am rather pleased with the approach I have started, it will save me a lot of time and money.
I will not have to keep buying plants each year and will no longer need to spend time nurturing my small garden, in fact it will save on maintenance and I can save some money by not having a hosepipe.
It may not do much for the environment but it will sure help my pocket!
