I feel it is important to highlight how Wandsworth, the brighter borough, discriminates and singles out areas.
The council has targeted a corner in Charlmont Road. I returned from work on September 27 last year to see several large 46ins high wooden posts on the kerbside, restricting pedestrian access from the permit parking bays to the pavement.
The technical services department said it did not have to notify residents near the property, as it had powers to stop vehicles driving on the pavement.
When I asked for a reduction in size and number of posts they ignored this suggestion and erected two more posts.
They have not taken similar action anywhere else in Charlmont Road or surrounding roads, where vehicles cross the pavement to park. My corner has definitely been singled out and looks disgusting.
People no longer walk on the pavement, they walk on the forecourt of the flats and dump household rubbish against the posts.
Residents of Wandsworth, beware. The council has the power to do what it wants outside your home without consultation, even if it causes several residents in the surrounding area difficulties. Even if it has the potential to reduce the value of you property the council does not care.
