Following over one million people protesting against the War in Iraq which has cost so much money and so many lives Tony Blair now says that he will press on with the vehicle and road pricing policy which nearly two million petitioners protested against.

So much for democracy and the common sense of the public.

His reason is stated as "To do nothing is not an option".

Looking back at so many failures of Blair and co, fiddling with things that didn't need fixing and then go pear-shaped as a result perhaps "doing nothing" is in many cases is a better option.

We should not interfere with the development of other countries for even when we take sanctions against other countries it is often to our disadvantage especially in the loss of lives of so many innocent civilians and our hard pressed troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Blair, Brown and Co have meddled in Iraq resulting in the increase in terrorist activity, the total destruction of the Iraq economy and the increase in world fuel prices. If we do the same in Iran fuel prices will rise again and we will have to use gold bars to fill up our vehicles on which our trade and transport of everyday things such as food are so dependent.

Perhaps this is Tony's plan to cure our congestion problems.

Would we all not be better of if we asked Government, both local and central, to do nothing, and save us the money, especially about all those rules that continuously spew out from the unelected of Brussels that cost us so much. As an example, Surrey County Council tell us our drains are cleaned once a year but look at how many still flood.

The latest plea for democracy is for a referendum on the EU to regain control of our border,s www.speakout.co.uk or write to Speakout, PO Box 440 Leeds LS6 9AZ. Telephone 0800 083 4894.

At the present time 82 year old Elizabeth Beckett is reported to be refusing to pay her council tax until her council (Cumbria) reveal how much they collect for Regional Assemblies and illegal immigrants, but the council is apparently refusing to tell her and now she is again awaiting the bailiffs.

She has offered to pay council tax less the figure she requests.

Any chance Surrey will oblige us with such figures for this county for we too have no say on what our council tax is spent on.

Would someone care to tell us how much we pay for the south-east regional assembly. Part of the arc tranche region of the EU.
