Hampton & Richmond boss Alan Devonshire wants his side to go on another unbeaten run after their first defeat in 13 games on Saturday.

Despite goals from Law-rence Yaku and Ian Hodges, the Beavers lost 3-2 at title-chasing Bromley, their first loss since November 18.

And Devonshire has urged Hampton to go on another hot streak to maintain their promotion tilt against fellow high-flyers Billericay Town on Saturday.

"It's disappointing to have lost our unbeaten run but it was always going to happen," he said.

"We have got big games coming up against Billericay and Horsham and we can't afford to get beaten in both."

The Beavers manager has scotched suggestions that the run coming to an end was like having a noose removed from around their necks.

"It doesn't feel like a weight off our shoulders because we wanted to keep it going for as long as possible," he said.

"We knew it had to come to an end sometime but it is never nice when you lose."

Devonshire is not looking for any special reaction from his players, insisting he just wants his side to continue the way they are playing.

"We played really well and I can't ask any more from them," he said.

"I just want to see the same commitment from them for our remaining games."

Saturday's defeat also dealt the Beavers a double injury blow, with Marvin Bartley (groin) and Dean Wells (calf) forced off and now doubtful for the weekend.

Devonshire insists his side still deserved something from Saturday's game.

"Because we have not played much football in the past few weeks we got tired towards the end and it showed," he added.
