A woman in her 20s was left bruised and shocked after she was attacked from behind on her way home from Wallington train station.
Sutton police said she may have been followed for 200 yards before she was grabbed in Ross Road, near the junction with Clyde Road on March 1, at around 11.30pm.
She fought back and managed to wrestle free from the suspect, who was described as a white male in his early to mid 30s, of stocky build and about 5ft 9in tall. He had a broad face and very short, but not cropped, hair.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or was drinking in one of the nearby pubs and saw a man fitting this description.
