An angel for Croydon (Welcome, Croydon Guardian, February 28)?
What an absurd idea. I hate to think how big the CO2 footprint would be in the manufacture of such a steel sculpture, but Croydon, being a green aware community, should perhaps think of something more appropriate.
I would suggest a couple of wind generators supplying a few kilometres of street lighting. Or better still, nothing.
Incidentally, didn't Saddam Hussein have a large crossed-sword sculpture erected on the road into Baghdad? What good did it do him?
