I read in the Croydon Guardian the council plans to put up council tax in April.
I am writing to tell you that it will cause a lot of hardship, especially to poor pensioners like myself.
The problem is the large amount that is added every year. My monthly council tax at the moment is much more than my weekly pension, need I say more? There are times when I am forced to pay my tax a few weeks late.
When this happens letters are sent which treat me like a criminal.
I don't think anyone realises how hard it is on pensioners to pay huge council tax bills, but then I don't think anyone cares.
