Around 200 people were evacuated from Streatham this morning following a fire and explosion at a set of workshops.
Police say they were alerted to the fire at about 3.45am.
According to London Fire Brigade (LFB) about 50 per cent of the first floor of a workshop on Westwell Road was damaged in the blaze.
Police and firefighters were concerned cylinders inside the building could explode. LFB were unable to confirm exactly what type of cylinders were involved, but did add that all had been accounted for.
An area of around 10 by 50 meters was affected by the fire.
Firefighters using breathing apparatus, thermal imaging equipment and aerial lifting platforms tackled the fire.
