Popping popcorn into their mouths and money into a bucket, moviegoers enjoyed themselves when a short film festival came to Croydon for the first time.
Fifty people went to the Future Shorts event at Matthews Yard and saw nine films from around the world, including animation, comedy and documentary.
Everyone was asked to vote for their favourite and this will be added to votes cast from worldwide audiences, resulting in the winning filmmaker getting a cash prize.
And on the way out there was a collection bucket for people to leave donations for the Croydon based charity Lives Not Knives.
Event organiser Gemma Johnson, said: “My favourite moment of the night was when the last film was on and everyone was laughing.
“Overall, the audience was very pleased that we were showing Future Shorts or in fact just these types of films in the Croydon borough.
“They can't wait for the next one in May at the David Lean Cinema.”
Future Shorts is the sister company of Secret Cinema, which specialises in immersive film experiences.
