Winter appeared to be showing its first signs in Sutton this afternoon, with a brief flurry of snow spotted in the sky above the town centre.
Shortly after 2pm flakes could be spotted in the midst of heavy rainfall high in the sky.
Office workers in Quadrant House, a 19 storey block behind Sutton station, are in a unique position to see the early formings of snow, even if the weather conditions do not translate at ground level.
One eyewitness said: "I was absolutely astounded.
"I was sitting there at my desk about to eat a panini when all of a sudden I saw snow outside.
"Winter is well and truly upon us."
Sutton also saw lighting, thunder and a rainbow today.
