Croydon conservatives will meet on September 20 to pick a new leader, after their former leader Mike Fisher quit late last night.
The Shirley councillor stepped-down under the weight of increasing pressure, after it emerged he accepted a £10,000 a year pay rise while council services were hit by cuts.
The date was set at a meeting this morning where the former leader of Croydon Council confirmed his resignation.
