Police are keen to find a man who rescued a young woman who was being sexually assaulted by a mini-cab driver.

The 24-year-old woman was getting a cab home with a friend, when she asked to get out at the Rosehill Roundabout in Sutton.

After walking the woman and her friend to the entrance to their flat, the driver grabbed his victim's breasts and started trying to kiss her.

The attacker ran off when a man walking past spotted the assault and intervened.

The woman was shaken-up by the incident and has since been to see her GP.

Sutton police have described the attacker as being an Asian man in his 50’s with short dark hair.

It is not yet known if he was driving a licensed or unlicensed cab.

Police investigating the assault are keen to speak to the man who came to the woman’s rescue.

He is described as having short hair and being in his 30’s.
