Two men have been charged after an elderly woman was injured when a man fled a department store after an alleged theft.
The 83-year-old was knocked over near Elys in Wimbledon.
She is still in hospital in what police described as a serious but stable condition.
Steven Bishop, 36, of Waldemar Road, Wimbledon was charged yesterday with grievous bodily harm without intent and theft.
He has been bailed to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on a date to be determined.
Robert John Paul, 40 also of Waldemar Road, was charged with theft.
He has been bailed to appear Wimbledon Magistrates' court on Wednesday, September 3.
Police were called to the store in Wimbledon Hill Road on Wednesday, August 20, to reports of shop-lifting.
London Ambulance Service were called and the woman was taken to a south London hospital.
