A car dealer, which started doing business in the early days of the automobile, is celebrating its 110th anniversary.

The family-run business, Wilsons Group, moved to Epsom in 1946 and employs more than 200 people from in and around the town.

It was established by Howard Wilson in 1904, and has come a long way from its origins - selling furs in Brixton, London.

Among the things it has done over the years was supporting and teaching driving to troops during World War I.

Based in Kiln Lane, the company recovered from a devastating fire in 2003.

Toni Wilson, managing director, said: "We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate our rich history, as well as looking forward to a bright future.

"In light of the work that we do within the community, it seems only right to celebrate with local people who have been able to share in our success.

"Only recently we celebrated with a loyal customer who purchased his 18th car from us in succession"

She added: "As a family run business, it fills me with such pride that we have continued to transform, ensuring that we survive in an ever-changing marketplace."
