Two women involved with a disability charity in Wandsworth got to meet the Queen.
The once-in-a-lifetime meeting was all part of an event on Thursday, May 29, St James's Palace for Leonard Cheshire Disability which supports disabled people around the world.
Lillian Dickinson meets Her Majesty
Veronica Thomas, 67, has been going to the Randall Close Day Centre in Battersea, a Leonard Cheshire Service, for 20 years.
She presented the Queen with a bouquet of flowers and said: "It was such an honour to meet the Queen and give her the flowers.
"She had a wonderful smile and a really good sense of humour. It was such a privilege to meet her in the flesh and my heart skipped a beat when she was talking to me."
90-year-old Lillian Dickinson has volunteered for the centre for 50 years and was chosen, as one of a select few, to meet the Queen.
She said: "It was a wonderful experience. The Duke of Edinburgh is such a character. When I met Her Majesty I told her she had been a good Queen and that it was an honour to meet her."
